Our Editorial Team
HealthMedHub content is produced by the HealthMedHub Editorial Team, a small group of writers and editors who specialise in translating nutrition, fitness, sleep and general-medicine topics into plain English. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names because articles are collaborative: a writer drafts, an editor rewrites for accuracy and clarity, and a second reviewer checks the sourcing before publication. Every article carries the same byline so that responsibility for it is unambiguous and traceable.
We do not claim clinical credentials we do not hold, and we do not present ourselves as a medical provider. Where a topic requires clinical judgement — diagnosis, prescribing, dosing, or interpreting your own test results — we say so plainly and direct readers to a qualified professional. Our writers are selected for their ability to read primary sources carefully and to describe uncertainty honestly, not for a title.
Before a writer is given a health topic, they must demonstrate that they can locate the relevant guidance from a national health body, summarise it without overstating it, and identify what the evidence does not show. Drafts that include a claim we cannot trace to a reputable source are sent back rather than softened. If a claim cannot be supported, it is removed.
Our Review Process
Every article and every calculator on this site passes through the same five stages before it is published, and again whenever it is updated.
- Research. The writer starts from national and international guidance — see Our Sources below — and reads the underlying material rather than summaries of it. Numbers are taken from the source that publishes them, never from memory or from another website.
- Write. The draft is written for a general reader: short paragraphs, plain wording, no jargon without explanation. Claims are hedged to match the strength of the evidence ("research suggests", "is associated with", "may support") rather than stated as certainties.
- Fact-check. An editor checks every figure, unit, threshold and formula against the cited source. Calculators are tested with known values, including deliberately extreme inputs, to confirm they cannot return impossible results such as negative or missing output.
- Source verification. Each referenced source must be current, authoritative, and actually contain the statement attributed to it. Links are re-opened at review time; a link that no longer resolves is replaced or the sentence is removed.
- Update. Published pages are re-reviewed on a rolling schedule, and sooner if guidance changes, a reader reports a problem, or a link stops working. The review date is shown on the page itself.
Our Sources
We prefer sources in this order: national public-health bodies and their clinical guidance first, then international bodies, then peer-reviewed literature, then reputable academic medical centres. We do not use commercial supplement sellers, content farms, or press releases as the basis for a health claim.
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — physical activity, sleep, nutrition and population health data
- World Health Organization (WHO) — healthy diet and physical activity guidance
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) — including NHLBI, NIDDK and the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health
- NHS (UK) — practical guidance on weight, diet, exercise and sleep
- MedlinePlus (US National Library of Medicine) — consumer health information and drug references
- Mayo Clinic — clinical overviews and patient education material
Corrections Policy
We correct errors. If a fact, figure, unit, formula or interpretation on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Substantive corrections — anything that changes what a reader would take away — are made to the page itself, and the review date is updated so the change is visible. Minor typographical fixes are made silently.
To report a problem, email support@healthmedhub.com or use our contact page. Please include the page address and, if you can, the source you believe is correct; that lets us verify and act faster. We aim to review every report, and we will tell you the outcome when a correction is made.
Editorial Independence
Advertising does not influence what we publish. Advertisers have no sight of articles before publication, no ability to request changes, and no influence over which topics we cover or how we describe them. We do not accept sponsored articles, paid placements, affiliate-driven rankings, or product endorsements. Where advertising appears on the site, it is served programmatically and is clearly separate from editorial content.
The same rule applies to our tools: a calculator is built to answer a question accurately, not to steer a reader towards a purchase. If we ever publish content that is funded or supplied by a third party, it will be labelled clearly at the top of the page.
What This Site Is Not
HealthMedHub is an educational information service. We are not a clinic, a telehealth provider, or a diagnostic service, and we cannot give personalised medical advice. Our calculators produce estimates from published formulas and are intended to help you understand a number, not to replace an assessment by a qualified professional. If you have symptoms, or if a result worries you, contact a doctor, pharmacist or emergency service rather than relying on this site.
Educational information only. HealthMedHub provides general educational information and health tools. This content is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your own situation.
